Wheel testing system RPA-PD 1300
The RPA-PD 1300 ultrasonic testing system expands the product range for the railway industry with a wheel testing system designed for production environments. During the design and development process, GMH Prüftechnik benefited from many years of experience with various other testing systems, which significantly influenced the concept of the system as an “in-line” testing solution.
High-performance system, simple adjustment
During the development of the testing system, particular focus was placed on the option for automatic loading and unloading, simple parameter configuration for frequently changing wheel diameters, and easy adjustment of the ultrasonic testing technology. For this purpose, the system software was equipped with the 2D CAD interface already known from other testing systems, enabling quick and easy setup and adjustment to different wheel geometries. With a supported wheel diameter range from 600 to 1,300 mm, the user benefits from a highly powerful system for the inspection of railway wheels in production environments.
Depending on the configuration, the RPA-PD 1300 inspects not only the wheel rim, but also the wheel web and wheel hub using either conventional single-element probes or phased array technology. The testing system meets the approval requirements for international high-speed rail traffic, as it complies with all relevant standards and regulations.
